I trust you all had a good "new years." It sure does not seem possible that another year is gone.
It rained most of the day yesterday, so the only thing we did was go see "The Lord of the Rings." We will have some reviews on the movie in the next Examiner.
It rained all day yesterday, and started out raining today. The temperature is probably about 68-70, with no rain for now. It would be nice to see some sunshine for a few hours.
There is a high class hotel abut a block North of Becky's. They had a New Year's Eve party that lasted until about 3 AM. Evidently, their speakers were pointed this way, because it sounded like they were in Becky's yard. We could hear even the words they were speaking between the songs. And firecrackers! I have never heard so many as was set off last night. It sounded like they were being set off in Becky's yard. It lasted for a good 30 min.
Richard should be down in a couple of days. We are looking forward to seeing him and Darlene, his wife.
This is a new year. I know that it is only another day later than yesterday, but it is a reminder that we have a new start in Christ, daily.
Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
The past failures (failing to press toward the mark we are called to in Christ Jesus) must be confessed and left behind. Learn from the failures, and don't let them hold us back from the mark established for us in Christ Jesus.
