The Lord worked it out to where we could go to Brasil with Fay, to take her home. Moreover, Christina, Lord willing, is staying here until June 5th. She will be staying with Bettie's sister, Becky and with Fay's family. They only live about 10 min. apart in Anapolis.
I have been sending letters to our folks with some pictures attached. Here are the letters with some of the pictures. These are small e mail duplicate pictures of higher resulution pictures. The higher resulution would take up too much space, and would take too long to upload and download for viewing. I will take all of this off from the web site when I run out of room.
I must admit that what we have seen of Brasil is not what I understand is the typical poverty. I guess Anapolis is one of the "richer" cities in the country. All the ones we have met have been at the least upper middle class. But we do see poverty, horse drawn carts and bicycles everywhere. The only real poverty we have seen was in Brasilia, where people were living under overpasses.
Evidently, the Presbyterians were the first missionaries in this area, and they established some good churches and hospitals.
Following are the dates I sent the letters home with the pictures.
Each page and picture opens a new window, so simply close the window when you want out.
The three mpg files are quite large, so you probably should not try to download them unless you have broad band.
